CRENOL & WILSON

(WORKHOLDING ) LIMITED

Designers, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Quality Workholding and Toolholding Products

About Us

Crenol & Wilson (Workholding) Ltd, initially Norman Crenol Chucks & Tooling Ltd, was established in 1981 by the late Norman Crenol. Now run by his youngest son, the company continues to provide a comprehensive stockholding and distribution service for workholding/toolholding and associated products to a wide range of industries, institutions, government organisations, educational establishments, and more.
Further expansion took place in 1994 with the opening of a machine shop to produce chuck jaws, both standard and special, to suit almost any make of chuck in the market place. Special fixtures, base plates, adaptor plates and many other products associated with workholding are now produced in the machine shop.

The company operates from custom built freehold premises, organised in a manner necessary to ensure all activities are carried out in controlled conditions and allowing storage of products under dry conditions.

Approved registration to BSEN ISO9002:1994 was achieved in June 1993 followed by approved registration to BSEN ISO9001:2000 on 18th January 2001 to ensure the supply of assured products and services.

The company employs personnel with a wide experience of the industry, capable of giving both technical and commercial advice and to provide answers to customers’ questions. Our design engineers are university graduates, using the latest CAD/CAM systems for speed & efficiency.

All systems are fully computerised, thus enabling a quick response to customer inquiries and efficient monitoring of stock levels.

The company supplies workholding/toolholding equipment to a wide range of customers, including Rolls Royce, Leonardo UK Ltd, Pall Industrial Hydraulics Ltd, Flight Refuelling Ltd, John Crane (UK) Ltd, Weston Aerospace Ltd, BAE Systems Ltd and Eaton Aerospace Ltd, and has established excellent relationships with these and other companies.

The product range we offer is comprehensive and, as well as our own manufacture, the products we distribute are exclusively from companies of known reputation who have a proven quality record and are able to provide the necessary technical and commercial back up when required.

Company Strategy

Crenol & Wilson will continue to offer all valued existing and new customers a first class technical and commercial service. We are always pleased to assist anyone or any company – from the home hobbyist to the largest international corporation – with their workholding and toolholding requirements. As we are not exclusively tied to any particular manufacturer, we are able to offer the best product for the customer’s specific application(s) without bias. The manufacturer’s page indicates some of the companies that we represent; if you have a requirement from a particular manufacturer that is not shown on this page we will always endeavour to offer a competitive quotation for equipment manufactured by any work/toolholding manufacturer.

We will continue to supply both to the UK and overseas markets and would welcome new enquiries from both of these markets.

Product quality and customer service

The company will continue to ensure that stringent quality systems will always be in place. We will not promote any products that we consider to be of inferior workmanship.

Everyone employed by Crenol & Wilson, without exception, is aware of their importance within the context of maintaining the high levels of customer service that have been the backbone of the company’s philosophy since the day it started, and will do their utmost to satisfy their customers’ requirements.

Investors in people

Crenol & Wilson considers an on-going implementation of internal and external training programmes – with a keen emphasis on the maintenance and development of positive team spirit – enables us to deliver a premium quality solution-focused service to our customers.

Whilst the company will continue to invest in modern machinery, tooling and computer systems to ensure that customers’ requirements are continued to be met in terms of quality, prices and time, we will never forget that these items are only beneficial if the people who use them on a daily basis are fully skilled and – more importantly – motivated to do so.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this and, if you have a future requirement for work/toolholding equipment, why not give Crenol & Wilson a try? We are confident that you will not be disappointed.
